An Exclusive Look Into Our Annual Partners’ Circle

An Exclusive Look Into Our Annual Partners’ Circle

Last week, our annual Partners’ Circle took place online and it was a highlight in our calendars.

Our annual forum brought together The Circle’s twelve grassroots partners from Nigeria, South Sudan, Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Kenya, Afghanistan, UK, South Africa, Uganda, Sri Lanka and the Middle East.

At a time of great concern from women’s rights, this was a powerful moment to regroup and inspire towards collective action through collaborative working, peer support and skills sharing.

Gayani Gomes, Projects Manager of Women’s Centre Sri Lanka, said: “It is always incredible to be a part of a global network like The Circle and to be part of such a welcoming space where we can connect from different parts of the world and hear all these feminist leaders, their stories and the work they are undertaking in supporting victims and survivors of violence. Thank you always to The Circle for welcome us into the family.”

Rahela Sidiqi, Founder and Director of Rahela Trust, said: “I am so very thankful for this kind of collaboration and how we will grow and extend over the coming years to increase co-operation, collaboration and be more resourceful. It is a beautiful thing.”

Delphine Uwamahoro, Founder and Executive Director of Our Sisters’ Opportunity in Rwanda: “Such great ideas from all these different organisations from different countries that we will definitely be using in Rwanda – how inspiring this annual meeting is!”

Collectively in 2023-24, our frontline partners have supported over 88,000 women and girls directly facing violence and injustice and made incredible and lasting change in their communities.

We were also delighted that our longstanding supporter and former Prime Minister of Australia, Julia Gillard led an empowering and collaborative session on leadership and resilience.

As Julia said: “When momentous and challenging world events take place, it is OK to have your first reaction as profound emotion; it is important to sit with and feel that. Then it is time to get analytical, regroup and use that analysis to propel you forward with renewed energy in the change you want to make. This resilience cycle is vital”

“These are the vital spaces we need going forward, solidarity amongst women to gather, share and inspire action. It was a privilege to have join the Partners’ Circle this year.”

With your unwavering support as part of the global feminist network, our partners are going from strength to strength. Thank you for standing with us in solidarity and action.
