Frances Brodrick

Egyptian feminist Nawal El Saadawi inspires me so much. She was a doctor, a writer, a champion of soul-level beauty and revolution. She underwent FGM as a child and worked tirelessly to disentangle from patriarchy within herself, in Egypt and beyond. She put out a call for the global solidarity of women: “Feminism is not a western invention – feminism is embedded in the culture and the struggle of all women all over the world.” I am so grateful for her work and her spirit. I love her. “Sisters, unite! Together we can break down the walls that have held us back for far too long.”

Frances Brodrick is passionate about working in solidarity to strengthen women’s organising globally. She has the honour of supporting The Circle’s grassroots partners, and in her spare time she holds Girls’ Circles and Menarche Rituals to help girls deepen their cyclical wisdom and power.
