Anne Aslett
“Despite so much progress on women’s rights, most women around the world live in environments where their safety and prosperity are far from guaranteed. I have long admired The Circle’s approach in understanding the reality of women’s lives in very challenging contexts and supporting them, on the frontlines, to make change. I am honoured to join the Board in this endeavour and to have the privilege of seeing this work in action.”
Anne is the global Chief Executive Officer of the Elton John AIDS Foundation and has served the charity in various capacities for over 20 years. She leads the Foundation’s mission and activities across the UK, the United States, Africa, Asia and Eastern Europe, including granting to programs in over 102 countries. During Anne’s tenure, the Foundation has raised more than $650 million, becoming one of the world’s leading AIDS funders and supporting over 3,100 projects across 102 countries to expand access to healthcare, challenge LGBTQ+ stigma, and help end AIDS.
Anne joined the Foundation from the commercial sector, where she managed a news information service for the UK, leading print and electronic media, following over five years in print journalism and documentary film making on health and current affairs issues. She has served on various boards, including Comic Relief, Funders Concerned About AIDS, and, most recently, the UK’s National Health Service HIV Board . Anne was awarded an OBE for her services to HIV, healthcare and equality in the UK and globally in The King’s 2026 New Year’s Honours.
